Welcome

Letter from the Principal of PHJH....

Principal Danielle Newman

Dear Students and family members at PHJH,

As we settle into the second semester, we are going to encourage students to continue to RISE UP!! Our teachers and staff will be working with students. We will be working to improve NWEA scores and students need to work to show more growth from the beginning of the year. We will continue to prepare for the new state test in April.

Students must come to school every day with their ipads fully charged. Students should also be checking their work and assignments on CANVAS. Work that is not submitted through canvas can be considered missing or incomplete. Please be sure to get all work turned into your teachers. If you are not sure if you have missing work, ask your teacher. All students will be finishing up their language arts and math bundles in the next week. Students will be taking scantron which is done on their ipads

Our EL students will be taking WIDA starting the week of February 4th until the middle of February. Students should make sure that they are doing everything that they can to prepare for the test. Please be sure that students are getting plenty of rest and eating breakfast when we do have testing.

Junior high students are still learning how to study, how to prepare for tests, and how to get all the work completed everyday. Students are also learning how to be responsible to complete all their e-learning assignments which they have FIVE school days to complete. This is VERY important to complete because if the work in not completed it will be entered as a “0” and that can really hurt the students overall grade.  This can also count as an unexcused absence if no eLearning has been completed.

If you have any questions about your child’s grades, behavior, or over all academic success, please feel free to email a teacher or someone from the administration team. Keep asking questions and get the answers to help your child be successful.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Newman
