Letter from the Principal of PHJH....
Principal Danielle Newman

Dear Paul Harding Students, Parents, Families, and Staff,

What an AWESOME year we have had SHOOTING FOR THE STARS!
This year has been filled with a lot of new and exciting incentives, field trips, and activities. I hope that our students keep reaching for the stars as they continue to learn and grow in their everyday life experiences. There have been a lot of great memories from the 2016-2017 school year that I know will be remembered as students leave PHJH!  I am grateful for many things that we were able to do for all those who call PHJH their home. A lot does happen in just a short school year, and I hope that these are the best years of your life so far! Middle school does not last a lifetime, but it is the life that you make from what you learn during these few short years that lasts!
I challenge you all to make each day count. I would like you to find something that you will be able to do to give back to those that have helped you at PHJH, and make a change for the future. Enjoy your summer, be safe and have fun. I look forward to seeing our 7th graders return next fall as 8th graders. We will be working again to unlock more of their future and keep shooting for the stars and beyond! I wish the best of luck to our 8th graders, and I hope you continue to soar in high school as you join the graduating class of 2021.

Be a HAWK – Have Respect, Act Responsibly, Work Together, and Keep Safe!!

Unlock Your Future

Paul Harding Jr. High is focused on giving students the essentials they need to unlock their future. Students are taught to respect others, be engaged in their learning, and aspire towards greatness. Listed below are several programs used to assist our students in attaining their goals to ...Reach for the Stars.

Academics We are committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment that best meets the needs of all students. We have a rigorous curriculum that includes more challenging classes for the advanced learner as well as tutoring/intervention classes for those who struggle.

Character Counts The Six Pillars of Character Counts is used to teach all students the importance of having good character throughout their life: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

Incentives Students who are on task, in class on time, and focus on their academics are invited to participate in monthly reward activities that include Green/Gold Games, Cultural Feast, Tin Caps Game, Canlan Ice House, Flying Aces, Blizzard Blasts, Success Sundaes and many more.

Clubs Students can get involved in many clubs such as Student Council, Dub Club for young men, Art, Gardening, Soccer, Chess & Lego Robotics.

Success Class & Why Try Class There are two 30 minute intervention classes (math & language arts) Which are built into the daily schedule to ensure student growth and mastery of the standards. Students are placed in different groups according to their ISTEP, NWEA, and teacher recommendations.

Sports PHJH participates in the North East  8 Sports Conference (NE8SC) for all sports in the 2017-18 SY.

The PHJH staff is fully committed and willing to go to great lengths to ensure student success!!
